Written By : CHARLOTTE PETERS . The last three bodies from the tragic Sigatoka bus accident three months ago have finally been identified.
And police have issued relatives with burial notices.
Police will also wrap up investigation into the horrific bus fire which claimed 12 lives
Deputy director Traffic Mahesh Mishra said they were waiting for the bodies to be released before clearing all important aspects of the investigation.
“We want to make sure everything is done properly and the bodies are released before we wrap up our investigation into the incident,” said Mr Mishra.
Mr Mishra said they were currently in the process of analysing important factors and will not leave any stones unturned.
He said they would scrutinise everything thoroughly before submitting the case docket to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution for charges to be laid.
The docket would assist the DPP on matters regarding charges and non-compliance.
On a separate issue he called on members of the public to refrain from throwing water on moving vehicles.
“It’s an offence to throw water on moving vehicles. A life had been lost as a result of people throwing water on moving vehicles,” he said.
Mr Mishra said drivers tended to lose concentration when water was thrown at them and lives had been lost as a result of lapses in concentration.
On the same note he has also warned drivers not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
