Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. The Kadavu Provincial Council will meet in the first quarter of 2009 to discuss the attendance of certain chiefs at the recent Bose ni Turaga meeting at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.
Chairman Ratu Varani Rayawa said chiefs who attended the meeting would have by now reported to their respective villages what transpired at the meeting.
“I’m sure whatever transpired at the meeting will be discussed with their respective villages,” said Ratu Varani.
He said those who attended the meeting had breached protocol despite a unanimous decision by the chiefs not to attend the traditional leader’s forum.
The issue he said would be discussed further at the next council meeting some time in March or April.
Ratu Varani said one of the chiefs who attended the BNT the Tui Nakasaleka Ratu Inoke Qalomaiwasa had no mandate to apologise to the interim government and interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama on behalf of the people Kadavu.
He said the apology came as a shock to chiefs as Ratu Inoke was part of a decision not to attend the meeting.
