Sports focus for 2009

My focus for the year is to be better than what I am now. But most importantly to keep on renewing my relationship with the Lord who has been the source of inspiration throughout my rugby league career.

(Semi Tadulala- Fiji Bati winger and now plays in the Super League in England)

For 2009… to spend quality time with my new family.
(Matelita Shaw- National netball goal shooter who recently got married to Australian naval officer Julius Tadulala)

To improve my performance in the rugby field, try to weed out the basic mistakes that I make and most importantly try and secure another overseas contract.
(Semisi Tora- Fiji Bati and plays for Lautoka Crushers)

To increase my knowledge and skills in rugby league to another level. Train hard and try to secure another overseas contract but most importantly to keep my relationship with the Lord.

To help Tailevu rugby move to another level from what we achieved in 2008. Try and develop as many Tailevu ruggers as possible.

As far as Fiji Football is concerned I would like to ensure the completion of all projects planned for 2009. That the academy is not only built but all plans approved in August, be implemented and that all affiliated districts fully participate in FFA activities.

I want to win all my fights this year. I’m looking forward to a re-match against Javier Marmani. I wish all my supporters a happy New Year.

Well, for 2009, I’ll try and maintain the standard of women basketball in Fiji. We had a fantastic year last year by heading to Spain and playing in other international tournaments and I would like to maintain that. Also, I will try and introduce more people into the sport of basketball.

For 2009 I’ll try and prepare the best team for next years’ Mini-Games. We have been the defending champion since 1991, And for development work on the young and upcoming athletes.

Well, for this year I’ve got to stop drinking. Try and encourage more people to take up the sport of hockey. And also to develop our Kaji hockey tournament.
