Written By : ELIKI DRUGUNALEVU. The sporting community could be heading for bigger and better things in the future when a top sporting agent from renowned AMI in Australia visits our shore.
This was revealed yesterday by former sports minister Rajesh Singh who said that the agent will arrive on January 9 to hold a series of meetings and also to see if another sporting complex could be constructed.
“Well, AMI is big sporting company in Australia and the agent is a very good friend of mine and his name is Greg Keenan and he will arrive on the 9th of January,” he said.
“When he arrives we’ll probably head out to watch some sporting activities, hopefully watch some rugby matches and then we’ll have the meeting the following day.
“Well, he will be meeting with the Prime Minister. I have just sent an email to him with regards to Keenan’s arrival and his interest in improving the standard of sports in Fiji.”
Singh, Keenan is looking at building an international standard sports complex to help improve the standard of sports in the country.
“Well, he is interested at putting up a sports complex, an international standard one. And basically the sports complex will help sports like rugby league also union plus other minor sports.
“So basically it’s just a meeting and he will be here for about four to five days and we will see from there whether to go ahead with the project.”
