Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. Residents in Lami and Nasinu should receive normal water supply soon, said Ministry of Works spokeswoman Sainiana Waqanibete.
Ms Waqanibete said various complaints had been lodged with their office yesterday because of a broken pipe at Lami.
They managed to repair the damage and were expecting normal water flow later yesterday evening.
“There was a broken pipe at Lami in the morning bur a quick response from the workers enabled us to complete the repairing work later in the afternoon,’’ she said.
“A full water flow should be reaching every house and if some houses still have problem then they should not worry because it will take some time for the water to flow successfully due to air locks in the pipe.
“The residents should be getting water sooner or later but not after today (Tuesday) and we apologise for any convenience caused to the public.’
She said water flow elsewhere should be normal.
Meanwhile work on the Laqere Bridge is still progressing. Ms Waqanibete thanked the public works department employees for their hard work to upgrade some new development buildings for the people.
