Police confiscate $2.3m worth of marijuana

Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. The Fiji Police Force Drug Unit confiscated drugs worth more than $2.3 million during a raid on Wednesday.
The raid was conducted in a farm in the interior of Navosa where Police uprooted 474 plants believed to be marijuana.
Police Drug Unit Head, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajeshni Mala, said the farm was discovered after a 12 hour walk through dense jungle.
“A total of 474 plants were uprooted with a street value of more than $2.3m,” Ms Mala said.
She said phase three of the FPF Vodo Ose Operation was a success.
Police Spokesman, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri, said no one was arrested during the raid.
