Samu Vunivalu is just trying to spoil everything the Nadi Rugby Union executives are trying to do, says Penisoni Waki.
The NRU official made the comment in response to Vunivalu who said that there was a lot of injustice in NRU.
Vunivalu told Sunsports on Thursday that there would be a special meeting next week as they have no confidence on the current executives.
“Samu Vunivalu is nothing in Nadi. He spoils everything because club games are running smoothly and every team like Nadroga and Naitasiri lose at one stage.”
“He cannot call a meeting because he is nothing to club rugby, he is saying that he is the Mosi Rugby coach but nothing has come from Mosi identifying him as the coach.”
Waki said Nadi Rugby is trying to groom young players now as many of their former reps that helped put NRU as provincial champs have quit.
“If he really wants to talk than he should attend the meeting, he is my nephew but I don’t like what he is doing.
“What he is doing now is making it hard for the executives to get sponsorships.”
He added Vunivalu was not a delegate of NRU and the comments made by him would only affect the performance of the young players.
“A real ‘kai nadi’ wouldn’t go to the media.”
Meanwhile, Vunivalu said the only thing they want is a change in the executives because it seems that the current executives were bringing in politics into the union.
“I’m a registered Mosi Coach, I don’t want to fight but this is for the betterment of the union.”
“The problem we have here is that there is no secretary and no president in the union and clubs spent more than $5,000 last year to get new sets of uniforms for their teams yet the club competitions weren’t completed.”
Nadi hosts Navosa 3pm today.
