They displayed showmanship of discipline and skills to family members, the public and colleagues.
The parade was performed by police officers from the Western Division.
The chief guest at the event was Divisional Police Commander West, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Salacieli Naivilawasa.
SSP Naivilawasa reminded officeres of their duties and responsibilities that accompanied the profession.
He told the parade that their performance would determine the accomplishments of the force in the coming year.
“The transition to success for year 2011 will entirely depend on how we perceive the Fiji Police Force for the future,” he said.
“It requires complete sacrifice and commitment, and more importantly, creating innovative ideas that will steer ahead an adaptable and vibrant organisation,” he said.
SSP Naivilawasa urged officers to lead by example as keepers of the law.
“We must be exemplary role models in everything we do; to uphold the rule of law by example at the frontline and at all times,” he said.
The event was dubbed a milestone for the Western Division, with the magnitude of the event being a first for the Western police force.
SSP Naivilawasa said the parade was an opportunity to strengthen comradeship beyond station and post level.
“Far too many times we engage with our colleagues at our station or post levels and we completely forget the division and the entire organisation.
“I will encourage you all to take time and continue to strengthen your relationships with stations and districts,” he said.
