Former national netball rep Aliti Vakalala will not feature for the Nadi (Delta Coy) in the Army Wives Netball and Volleyball tournament in Suva today.
“Vakalala will not be with the team due to family commitment,” said team manager Sainiana Dere who is the wife of the current Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alifereti Dere.
“But we will feature three teams, two for netball and one for volleyball,”Dere said.
“We did not have a good outing last year as we did not even reach the elimination stages. This year we are looking forward to step up and better our performance.”
The three survivors in the 25-member team are Miliana Qera, Naomi Ratulevu, and Adi Bale Kurunavanua.
“We look forward to this annual meet because we meet other Army wives from Labasa, Suva and Lautoka,”Dere said.
The two- day tournament starts today and ends tomorrow at Laucala, Suva.
