Marika Rodu wants to be a soccer coach rather than a coach/player for Rewa in 2013.
Rodu prefers to direct instructions from the sidelines rather than playing a dual role on the field.
With former Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau returning to the Delta Tigers outfit this season, Rodu believes he would operate better from the sideline.
“Simi will add experience to the team and with Lorima Dau also staying with Rewa, I prefer to be the mind from the outside.
“Simi is a product of Rewa and I believe he will always give his best shot,” Rodu said.
The only player that might leave the Tigers this season is Misaele Draunibaka, who has decided to join the Babasiga Lions.
“The team is made up of mostly players from last season except for Misa who’s leaving for Labasa,” Rodu said.
“Core of the team from last season will be back at training on  Wednesday with players from the local league competition that have been selected.
“For me this year, I will concentrate on coaching as I would like to give players a chance to be in the team and represent Rewa.”
Rodu said he hoped to keep Rewa as one of Fiji soccer powerhouse in 2013.
“What I want to see is that Rewa stays in the top three and be a competitive district in every competition,” Rodu said.
