Suva Football praised their clubs in the opening round of their Power Electric Sponsored Local League competition which started yesterday at the Albert Park ground in Suva.
Local league chairman Niranjan Prasad was impressed.
“This was the opening round of the competition and teams played well,” Prasad said.
Sixteen teams in the Super Premier Division and 11 teams in the Premier Division are competing in the competition.
In the Super Premier Division matches yesterday, Bureta and Civic are leading their respective pools after recording impressive wins.
Bureta leads Pool One after an impressive 4-0 win against Tacirua. Their other pool opponents are defending champions Wailoku, Army, Vatuwaqa, North Pole, Tamavua and Police.
Last year’s runners up Samabula and Civic also recorded impressive wins. Samabula defeated Spirit 2010 5-3 and Civic defeated Balolo 4-0.
Samabula and Civic’s other opponents in Pool Two are Port Vila, Addisborough, USP and Combined Brothers.

Premier Division- Flagstaff 1 Vunidilo 0, Central Meads 5 Country Club 0.
