Mourning from families, relatives and friends echoed around the chiefly burial ground in Naduri Village, Macuata, yesterday as the late Adi Senimili Duavokavoka Dyer was laid to rest.
Her second eldest son, Abel James Dyer, could not hold back tears when he told Fiji Sun: “Mum was very spiritual, very strict on the values of life and I was very close to her.
“She was a very loving and kind, she is the best and I will miss her so much.”
“She openly wept and said ‘Son, I forgive you’. These were her last words I heard before she passed away.”
Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere also described her as someone who made sure that everyone respected the vanua.
She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
