Bala’s case deferred again to October

August 13
13:41 2014

The special administrator for Ba, Lautoka and Tavua Magistrate had his case deferred to October 20 yesterday because the presiding judge was not available at the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.

Praveen Bala denies causing death by dangerous driving and was present in court with lawyer, Shalend Krishna.

According to his lawyer, the unavailability of the Magistrate does not affect the case as investigations continue.

“We have exchanged disclosures in the court and investigations will continue,” Mr Krishna said.

He said the reviews were conducted on continuing investigations and would be available to the court in October. Last year, Bala allegedly bumped a 48-year-old father of three, Puna Chand, at Teidamu near Lautoka.
