Women in the district of Udu, Vanua Levu will soon learn the tricks of bee-keeping.

This can only be achieved when the Ministry of Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics officials will visit and conduct bee farming training in the Udu district next week.

Five villages in Udu which includes Vunikodi, Cawaro, Nukudamu, Nukusa and Nabouono will be part of the training.

Integrated Human Resources Development Programme project manager at the Commissioner Northern’s office, Aslam Khan, said the main focus of the project was to train all co-operatives mainly women because they spent most of their time at home.

Mr Khan said the consultation would help villagers together to learn the tricks of the trade in bee-keeping.

He said the training was also to make people aware of Government’s intention in enabling villagers to earn a living.

“This will also help in terms of sustainability and viability,” Mr Khan said.

Four participants will be representing each village.
