Fiji United Freedom Party will stop capital projects and focus on youths.

Likely party leader Nayagodamu Korovou made the statement at the party’s first campaign meeting campaign at Nadera Methodist Church last night.

Speaking to about 30 people he said: “We will use the money which was used in infrastructure development for our youths by setting up small businesses for all registered youth groups,” Mr Korovou said.

One of the residents in the area raised a concern that some farmers did not really have a secure market to sell their products.

“This is why a Marketing Ministry should be set up if the Fiji United Freedom Party gets into Parliament,” he said.

Mr Korovou said this was often not possible since the supply was often short.

“This can be made possible if a group of farmers agree to work together and produce the demand,” he said.

Some of the issues raised were the cost of attaining a driver’s licence, devaluation of our money and unemployment.

The party’s candidate nominees will be announced tomorrow.
