Do your work diligently, were the words echoed to the newly-ordained 15 Methodist Church ministers on Sunday at the Centenary Church in Suva.

While speaking to hundreds who witnessed the ordination, Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca told the ministers: “You have been appointed to this office; you should give yourself wholly to its work.

Set yourself to be an example to the people of the church, in work, in deed, in love, in faith and holiness.

“Let yourself be the flock of Christ the shepherd, feeding their spirits and leading them in paths of righteousness.

“Hold up the weak, bind up the broken, heal the sick, seek the lost, be strong in spirit that you may perform all tasks committed to you.”

Meanwhile, foreign delegates and those from the maritime islands who attended the conference were also farewelled at the service.

The vice-president of the Methodist Church, Ratu Peni Volavola said goodbye was the hardest thing.“We have spent two weeks together and now it is time to say goodbye,” Ratu Peni said.

“I thank everyone that has come and now it is hard to say goodbye.”
