Coach Ravinesh Kumar said currently 14 players were in camp at the National Football Academy in Ba and had their first training run yesterday.

“More players will join us later this week which will include players from the victorious Rewa side, Ba and Suva,’’ Kumar said.
He said players would be given time to recover from injuries which they sustained during the B.O.G.
“I have been notified that some of the players have sustained injuries during the tournament and will be given recovery time,’’ he said.

Players yet to march into camp are, Rewa’s Setareki Hughes, Ratu Tevita Waranivalu, Gerish Prasad. Suva’s Jale Dreloa, Kolinio Sivuki, Antonio Tuivuna, Nikhil Chand and Ba’s Misiwani Nairube, Narendra Rao, Samuela Nabenia and Saula Waqa Matayalo.
Kumar said he identified some new players who will be giving their best to slot a position in the national side for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

“There are some overseas-based players who are interested and we have invited them for the trials with some players from the Fiji Secondary Schools Inter-District Championships,’’ Kumar said.
He says players have been given exposure to feature alongside senior players during the B.O.G.

Kumar will be assisted by former Socceroos coach and player Frank Farina as a technical advisor.
He arrives in the country on Saturday.

The national side will also feature in the inaugural Oceania Football Confederation President’s Cup in New Zealand on November 17-23.

The OFC President’s Cup will feature 2014 Oceania Champions League winner Auckland City, Vanuatu’s Amicale FC, two teams from the Asian Football Confederation and two other invited teams.

Meanwhile, Rewa won the B.O.G on Sunday after beating Lautoka 2 – 1 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
