Apisalome Waqatabu, Savenaca Rawaca and Eremasi Radrodro will be released from the Vodafone Fiji 7s training camp for Saturday’s HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge against holders BLK Nadroga.

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan said the players would be released for their provincial teams if they are selected to play.

“I will be releasing them. One of the boys will be starting at the weekend for Nadroga and a couple others will be on the bench. We have also modified their training a bit,” he said.

“We talked to Nadroga beforehand and the same thing will happen next week for the boys in the Farebrother challenge for Suva.

“They can leave the camp on Thursday which will allow them some opportunity to recover in time for the Farebrother if they are selected for that.

“You know this is my priority and when I make decisions I’ve got to think what’s in the best interest for the national team. I think the clubs are excellent in understanding that as well.

“If we full-contract some boys with those provinces, then the provinces also get a fulltime rugby player in their team and that’s going to help them as well.”

Waqatabu, Rawaca and Radrodro will be hoping to help BLK Nadroga in the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge against Northland.

With the players going into their third day of training, Ryan said they had been working hard and had shown a lot of discipline and improvement.

“We had three sessions today. They were tough. They are working very hard. It’s a good bunch and they are disciplined, so I have enjoyed the week. It’s been fantastic.”

He said more players are expected to sign their contracts as members of the Vodafone Fiji 7s squad to the upcoming HSBC Sevens World Series.

“There will be others, we will offer contracts to others in the next couple of days and it’s up to them to sign. Right now, it’s between me and them.

“In regards to Emosi Mulevoro, we need to put a little clause in (the contract) to make sure that from a military perspective they are happy and that hasn’t quite been finalised. The Fiji Navy is great and Emosi is very keen and excited.”

Out of the 30 players who have been called into the training squad, 12 will be selected for the Gold Coast 7s in Australia from on October 11-12 in the 2014/2015 HSBC Sevens World Series.
