What happened: BLK Nadroga defended the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge defeating Northland 12-0 at  Lawaqa Park yesterday.

Northland provided a good challenge as they dominated possessions and territory.

Northland played to their strength and executed a good tactical game which prevented Nadroga from playing their normal game.

Northland missed three penalties in the first half as both teams were locked 0-0 at halftime.

Stallions coach Esala Nauga reminded the players to lift their game in the second half.

And impact players Emosi Vucago, Apisalome Waqatabu and national sevens squad Apisai Domolailai, Savenaca Rawaca responded in style.

It took Nadroga 55 minutes to score their first try through Rawaca.

Domolailai scored their second try in the 63rd minute and converted by Waqatabu.

Big Play: Northland played a good defensive game which denied Nadroga on many occasions

Star Turn: Nadroga changed tactic in the second half which allowed them the title for another week.

Comments: Northland head coach Watisoni Ratulevu was impressed with their performance.

“I always tell my players to do damage which they did. They dominated the set pieces but it was lack of concentration which allowed Nadroga to score the two tries.”

Nadroga head coach Esala Nauga said he reminded the players at halftime to stay focused.

“This is a different competition altogether and I just reminded the players to lift the momentum and focus on the task. It was a good tough game and we thank Northland for giving us a good game.”

Suva plays Nadroga this Saturday.
