Malolo 19: (Timoci Tavuto 2 pen, Nacanieli Labalaba 2 tries, Semi Tuivunilagi)

Naitasiri Northern Bulls 13: ( Vetaia Rokosuka try 1,  2 pen, Amani Bosenawai 1 con)

What happened; Malolo has progressed to the Telecom B-Division final following their 19-13 victory over the Naitasiri Northern Bulls at Lawaqa Park yesterday.

The Mosese Volavola-coached side started brilliantly well in the first half.

They were more organised as a unit and forced the Bulls to be on the defensive.

The persistent pressure resulted in Malolo fullback Timoci Tavuto converting the first penalty.

The Bulls continued to commit mistakes which again allowed Tavuto to kick his second penalty for Malolo to lead 6-0. The Bulls only had themselves to blame with poor set pieces and wrong options. Malolo’s Iliavi Vadrawale was sin-binned for a dangerous play.

Malolo continued to dominate all phases of the game as they penetrated through the Bulls defence scoring their first try through winger Nacanieli Labalaba.

The Bulls replied with a try in the 40th minute to Vetaia Rokosuka which was converted by Amani Bosenawai.

Halftime: Malolo 11-7 Naitasiri Bulls.

Malolo lifted their momentum in the second half which saw speedster Labalaba scoring his second try which was not converted.

Rokosuka, of the Bulls, was successful with another penalty before Malolo’s Semi Tuivunilagi kicked their  last penalty.

Fulltime: Malolo 19-13 Bulls.

Big Play: Bolstering the Malolo side were former Nadroga reps Mosese Volavola and Jonetani Ratu.

Star Turn; Bulls provided a good challenge to Malolo in the second half.

Comments: Malolo team manager Tevita Sadrata acknowledges their fans for their support.

“We won because of the support of the people and also through the guidance of the Almighty.

“Volavola and Ratu boosted the side and our boys played their hearts out.”
