“Today (yesterday) we had slight problems with the tide and rough seas in the Eastern division, however we have communicated the message across to the affected areas and we will continue polling as usual,” Mr Saneem said.

“So far we had good turnouts crossing some 75 percent  and as we go through this week we anticipate the same trend to continue and get stronger as a buildup to September 17.”

Meanwhile, the elections office encourages voters to check their polling station by texting their voter identification number to 545 and find out their polling stations.
