Fiji Airways is seeking an individual, couple or a family deserving of a break to offer them a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The national carrier is calling on Fijians to nominate family members and friends who warrant a unique getaway as part of a newly launched marketing campaign.

The nomination form also requires a brief explanation as to why the nominee(s) deserve(s) this exciting break.

During the trip abroad to New Zealand, Australia, Los Angeles or Hong Kong, the trip winners will be filmed for an upcoming video campaign for Fiji Airways.

Fiji Airways managing director/chief executive, Stefan Pichler, said: “We have revamped our marketing approach.

“We now seeking to include more of Fiji’s biggest asset – its people – in the way we market our company and the country overseas.

“This new campaign serves the dual purposes of offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a trip abroad to the winner(s) who clearly deserve a holiday.

“Whether they have a busy work schedule and don’t have the time to relax or have never travelled overseas before, we are looking to capture some key emotional moments for our upcoming marketing campaign.

“Similar to our friendly service, the winner(s) will be looked after as if they are family throughout the entire experience, in the air and on the ground.”

Mr Pichler said the upcoming marketing campaign will resonate well with Fijians.

“If someone has never travelled or left the country, everything from receiving a passport, going to the airport and boarding a plane will be very exciting,” he said.

“We understand the feeling everyone gets when they are at home, but we want to showcase how this can be experienced not just when you’re in your comfort zone, but even in the air.

“Passengers on Fiji Airways are more than just a seat number, they are part of an extended Fijian family.”

Need to take a break

Happiness Institute chief executive, Dr Tim Sharp, said: “Taking a break can be a powerful source of happiness.

“We know from research that one of the ways we really can “buy” happiness is by purchasing experiences which then create memories and frequently improve the quality of relationships.

“In addition, we also know that taking a break can enhance our wellbeing and performance at work, as switching off is important if we really want to switch on.

“To really maximise the benefits of rest and relaxation, enjoying the comforts of somewhere that feels like a home away from home will do wonders for physical and mental wellbeing.”

Entries close on September 28th September at midnight.
