There is a possibility of relatively unknown talents being included when the Vodafone Fiji 7s side is named today.

Coach Ben Ryan wasn’t about to reveal any names just yet but confirmed some players had caught his eye during the Pacific Energy Ovalau 7s held over the weekend.

“There certainly were a couple of players from the local teams on Levuka that caught my attention as well as some players from Wardens and Yamacia,” Ryan said.

“But I’m certainly not going to make them public at this point.”

Ryan fielded two teams from his 24-man squad

Fiji White won the Cup final beating Wardens 26-0 while Fiji Black won the third/fourth place play-off.

Ryan had also previously said the old capital had a special place in his heart and the trip to Ovalau was part of his commitment to give talents outside of the mainland a chance to show their potential and be selected for national duty. The Vodafone Fiji 7s squad will soon feature in the 2014 Gold Coast 7s and the Oceania Sevens Championship next month will be named today at Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour.

Meanwhile, the Yamacia rugby team left the country yesterday to take part in the Safaricom Sevens in Kenya.

Team: Luke Navuwai, Semi Nakaira, Mosese Mawalu, Ropate Labalaba, Peniona Seniyanitu Saukuru, Emosi Togovaki Kuriyago, Kaminieli Turagalada Bogitini, Jone Kubu Tavaga, Waisale Dau Lagilagi, Laitia Tuitavatava, Jone Tanoa Baleidama, Viliame Qiovula.
