There has been a large growth in the number of vehicles’ coming in to Fiji.

This was highlighted by the ANZ Bank, head of retail banking Fiji, Sean Stratton during the bank’s Open branch and Car road show in Suva yesterday.

“I think if you look at the growth in Fiji, there’s been a large growth in the number of vehicles’ coming in. There’s a lot more confidence in the market.

“More and more people are looking to invest and buy vehicles; it’s a stepping stone to buying a house. People opt to come in and get a car first and then the next thing is they will be looking for a house.

“We want to help people in all the different life stage and life events, starting from opening bank accounts, savings, purchasing cars, houses etc.”

He said they ultimately become investment customers as well.

“Vehicles are well priced compared to other countries across the Pacific. There’s opportunity for Fijians to get into vehicles relatively inexpensively.

“Interest rates are good at 8.95 per cent which is our current car loan interest rate which is a good rate with easy finance options.”

This is the bank’s second car road show in Suva and outside the Namaka branch as well.

“We have invited car dealers to bring new cars down here at the branch with the view and hope to connect our customers that want to buy vehicles.

“Obviously with the providers we can sell the cars. It’s really about convenience to our customers and connecting with different parts of the communities together.

“They are all from local dealers; we have invited all the major car dealers down here Carpenters Motors, Asco Motors, Tappoo’s, Vision Motor’s and a lot of them are here.

These car dealers have also sent vehicles to the bank’s Namaka branch.
