Many people with disabilities have contributed to society and this includes the vibrant Anaseini Vesinawa of Vutia, Rewa.

“God created me like this and I don’t have any regrets for having a disability because I wouldn’t have changed a thing even if I had a chance,” Ms Vesinawa said.

She is a teacher at Vatuwaqa Assemblies of God Community Kindergarten in Suva. She has development disability but she said that with God nothing was impossible.

“If God has a plan for your life then even a disability is not an excuse to stop his plans for you,” Mrs Vesinawa said.

She was sharing her excitement in travelling to Labasa for the first time in her life to attend the Early Childhood Teachers Conference in Labasa. Ms Vesinawa said she had to put up with the boat ride for the first time.

“I can do all things through God who strengthens me,” Ms Vesinawa said.

“I like teaching because I love being with children and I know that God has given me this talent and I thank him for being my pillar of strength,” Mr Vesinawa said.

Ms Vesinawa who is also a Sunday school teacher proudly said that she had been an early childhood teacher for more than 14 years.

“When people see me they do not believe I could accomplish so much,” Ms Vesinawa said. She is grateful for having a son who now has a family of his own.

“But God made it possible that what normal people do I can do it also,” Mrs Vesinawa said.

Meanwhile, Ms Vesinawa received the Fiji Early Childhood Teachers Association Inclusive Award 2014.
