Parents are already trying to make the best of bargains for school items for the new year.

As the festive season continues, back to school shoppers have already taken to shops in major urban areas to stock up for their children.

Anjeshni Vikash from Nakasi said that compared to last year’s book prices she found this year’s much cheaper.

“The prices are affordable and in our budget.

“This year we nearly spent $200 on exercise book,”said the 30-year old mother.

On the other hand a parent of four children, Meli Vaciloa, said this year he found prices of school items too expensive.

“Where a single book costs $1.85 and the pack of five books costs $10 it is really hard to buy stationery for four children,” said the 40- year-old father.

The shop manager of a prominent retailer Mega Paper, Kaleshni Devi,- said that the business was going well.

She said they were expecting more people to shop with them for back to school shopping.
