Appointed Sigatoka Town Council chief executive officer Tulsi Ram is confident to take on his new role for 2015.

“I am ready to make positive changes to Sigatoka for 2015 and lift the standard of living to another level.

“So far I have had many positive responds from various stakeholders and I look forward to working closely with them,” he said.

Mr Ram said infrastructure discussions for the year had been taking place.

“We have sat down with ratepayers and other major stakeholders last two weeks where we discussed about some things that the town needs to upgrade. As stated earlier things are looking positive for us,” he said.

The former Tavua Town Council CEO said with his experience he believes that he would be able to carry his full duty to Sigatoka.

“When I first heard about being appointed to Sigatoka it came to me as a surprise I was not expecting it at all.

“I know I have a huge responsibility and with my experience from two growing towns in Tavua and Ba I am confident that I will be able to fill my responsibility,” Mr Ram said.

Sigatoka people will be expecting more changes on the beautification of the town and continuous work on the market area and public facilities.

“We will be focusing a lot in the beautification of the town since Sigatoka is also known for being a tourist town; work will continue for the market section and public facilities.

“This upgrades are important in a way it is a way of giving back to rate payers for their contribution to the town,” Mr Ram said.

The town council CEO will be looking forward to further consultation with the various stakeholders and gain their support in the development of Sigatoka.

Mr Ram replaced former special administrator Jay Whyte who had resigned early last month.
