Malaysian universities are looking forward to recruit more Fijians to study in Malaysia.

Fiji Higher Education Commission executive chairman Richard Wah said they received the message from 25 officials from the 14 Malaysian universities that came for the Malaysian Education Expo 2015 at Holiday Inn, Suva, yesterday.

He said the team was commended for their passion and support in trying to provide higher education opportunities for the people of Fiji.

“Fiji now educates and trains its people in Fiji and in many countries around the world,” Mr Wah said.

This, he said, provided opportunities to expand knowledge and to learn from many countries.

“It is pleasing to note that a number of Malaysian universities themselves are offering scholarships to Fijians.”

Mr Wah said the commission had met Fijians who had studied in Malaysia. They would provide more information on their Malaysia experiences.

“The commission is glad that the exhibition has been an annual event and students have continuously being recruited.”

He said it was pleasing to learn that Fijian students currently studying in Malaysia were doing well.

“We are urging students to make use of this education exhibition and learn more of the various opportunities and field of studies offered.”

The exhibition ended yesterday.
