TThe newest resort to launch in the impressive Yasawa islands, Paradise Cove, is a finalist in the 2014 AON Excellence in Tourism Awards.

The resort has been shortlisted for the Luxury Category.

Being nominated for the first time since its inception 18 months ago, the resort is every honoured and excited.

Paradise Cove’s Group Sales manager, Kylie Hogan, said: “We are extremely honoured and proud to have been nominated for this prestigious event.”

Importance of such awards

Being recognised for such local awards is a reward in itself and Paradise Cove believes this is a great opportunity for the resort.

Ms Hogan mentioned: “The importance of such awards spans much further than just the immediate acknowledgement from our Fiji Industry partners and peers.

“It goes on to validate the resorts commitment and drive of Luxury Tourism to all sectors of the global travel community.

“The awards enable properties to highlight their achievements and further validate their commitment to their many visitors.”

Tourism Industry

The tourism industry in Fiji is evolving and becoming a front runner in the pursuit to deliver and exceed guest expectations.

“With the support of the many individual properties, businesses, suppliers and departmental organisations, it feels more and more of a community effort to showcase Fiji as the ultimate tropical destination.”

Current Performance

The resort experienced what it dubs as a phenomenal entry into the tourism sector of Fiji since opening 18 months ago.

“Fulfilling a gap in the Yasawas of an affordable luxury resort and appealing to all demographics has led to an overwhelming response, often leading to the resort proposing a wait list trough the peak seasons.

“With this in mind the resort is currently half way through Stage 2 of releasing popular plunge pool suites to fulfil honeymooner’s requests.”

Future Plans

“We have a long term goal to provide our guests with an Adults only zone – incorporating a adults only pool, lounge and bar areas and zones to invite sophisticated and private functions.”

The 2014 AON Excellence in Tourism Awards will be held on February 20 at the Sheraton Fiji on Denarau Island in Nadi.
