New $60m Resort And Lifestyle Villa Project In Natadola

A new integrated tourist resort is to be built at Natadola.

The land is situated directly adjacent to the Natadola Championship Golf Course, on the eastern side where the twelfth hole is located, close to the resort boundary.

Entrance to the site is by a road off the main Natadola Road few hundred metres past the club House entrance road.

The standard for the area has already been set by InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa and the facilities at the golf course and the developer intends to create a complex that will complement these world class facilities.

The developer, Meridian Management Limited, is a Fijian-registered and Fijian-owned company and the major shareholder, Altaaf Jamal, has a long history of business success in Fiji. He founded both Frezco Beverages and Pacific H2O Limited.

They believe the time is right for a new high quality integrated resort development in the Natadola area.

All required approvals are in place for the property and work on the development site is scheduled to start soon.

The land has absolute 500 metres of white sand waterfront onto Natadola Bay and the area is branded as “Loka Beach”.

The site plan

The plan has a residential precinct with 96 lots. The area is gently rolling hills with a good slope towards the sea, offering the possibility of views from all blocks.

The minimum lot size is a quarter acre and there are several larger size blocks too. The main road in the development is 16 metres wide and leads from the Natadola Road to the large hotel site on the beach.

There are three large commercial sites which have absolute beach frontage.

Public access to the beach will be provided for residents of the development and there is a reserve of over six thousand square metres of open space which is dedicated for use as a park for the residents.

A large area adjacent to the hotel is set aside for commercial use for retailing. One other site of over twelve thousand square metres is reserved for future development for a tourism related facility.

The investment

A five star hotel will be built at Loka Beach, with beach front access along the full length of the beach and sweeping views out over the Pacific Ocean or towards the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Club and the mountain range inland.

Construction of the hotel resort will be $60 million. An international brand will be announced to manage the hotel facilities and this will provide access to the marketing power of the brand internationally.

The hotel will have 40 Block Units Rooms and 60 Single Bure with 1-2 rooms self-contained, as well as a restaurant providing international cuisine, several bars and a café and a convention center.

During the construction stages the residential development will provide employment for around 100 people.

The hotel will employ around two hundred and fifty people during the construction phase and in operation in excess of 300 full time positions will be available.

This development will make a significant contribution to the income of the people in the area.

The location

Loka Beach is situated on the same lagoon as the Natadola Beach but it is inside a boundary reef, which reduces the swells offshore.

At the centre of the white sand beach is a rocky headland reaching out into the lagoon, which has been reserved for a signature restaurant.

Views from this restaurant are west across the lagoon and out to sea, making it the perfect place to relax at sunset.

Because of the location, adjacent to the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course and the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa, the developers believe that investor demand will be strong.

It is rare to find such beautiful white sand beaches in Fiji and the lagoon is pristine Pacific Ocean water.

The development is less than forty minutes from the Nadi International Airport with Sigatoka Town a short distance down the highway.

Water, electricity services are available. Lots are being presold at a discounted price in the construction start up phase.
