Members of the National Youth Council (NYC) say they will continue to strengthen their partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

This came in the wake of a youth council national executive meeting opened by Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Iliesa Delana recently at Dokanaisuva Village in Naitasiri.

NYC President Wiliame Nayacatabu said; “We are certainly the eyes and ears of the ministry and Iliesa Delana has inspired us to work harder and smarter for our youths in partnership with the ministry.”

Youth Assembly of Fiji representative Frances Namoumou of Nasigatoka said; “We will certainly discuss strategies to effectively assist the ministry disseminate assistance and programmes to the youths in Fiji.”

Mr Delana told the youths; “Our existence as youth workers is to design, create, implement and manage resources at our disposal to benefit all Fijian youths.

“We are tasked to stimulate, boost and sustain their creativity and abilities and convert them into valuable products – products that will contribute effectively to their individual livelihood and most importantly towards the nation’s economy,” he said.

At the end of the meeting, he challenged the youth representatives present at the consultation to deliberate on matters that will improve their management. He urged them to be mindful of youths at all times.
