Fiji 41-5 Japan

The Vodafone Fijian 7s side easily dominated Japan and thrashed the tournaments host 41-5 to move on to the Cup semi-finals of the 2015 Japan 7s yesterday.

New cap and tournament leading try-scorer Josaia Wini got things underway sprinting through the Japanese defense to draw blood with the first try 14 seconds into the game, skipper Osea Kolinisau adding the successful conversion.

Wini crossed the score line again with two more tries to take the score up to 17-0 before Semi Kunatani followed with another try to put the scores at 22-0. Japan finally found a gap in Fijian defense and managed what would be their only try of the game by Katsuyuki Sakai.

Fiji returned even stronger in the second half both defensively and in their attack, with Samisoni Viriviri, Wini and Savenaca Rawaca adding another try each as the defense shut down any Japanese efforts to end the game 41-5.
