The 44 residents of the Golden Age Home in Natabua, Lautoka, were treated to breakfast by members of the newly formed Fiji Association of Women’s Graduate (FAWG) on Good Friday.

FAWG West provided Easter buns, eggs, raw peanuts, watermelon, rock melons and apples for the Good Friday breakfast.

Members delivered the items on Thursday afternoon and met with residents.

FAWG West secretary Vasiti Soko expressed her thanks to the FAWG members for their contributions.

“The visit to this Golden Age Home has been an eye opener to many members who had visited the residents for the first time and we feel really great and all agree that the effort was a worthwhile one,” Mrs Soko.

A total of eight FAWG members visited the Home.

Meanwhile, association president Rajneesh Lata Charan said that even though this was the first time for the FAWG members to pay a collective visit, members had forged a close bond with the residents.

“Most of us have lost our parents, so by providing this companionship with the residents we also treat them like our parents,” she said.

Mrs Charan said that the association would continue to make future contributions. She hoped to widen the scope of assistance provision for residents.

The Golden Age Home Superintendent, Tara Naresh thanked the members of  FAWG West for providing the hearty meal and acknowledged the effort and consideration put into making residents feel included .
