Let’s Review Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

The launch of Samsung’s new range of smartphones – Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge – has made these two phones the talk of the town. It has to some extent overshadowed the launch of other smartphones such as HTC One M9.

Once again, I was glad to have been one of the first few people in Fiji to have been able to get hands on with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, thanks to Vodafone Fiji.

Vodafone Fiji will launch the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge which will be available at all Vodafone Fiji retails stores across the country soon.

Whilst both phones have similar features, having already reviewed the Galaxy S6, here I’ll be looking at the S6 Edge.

S6 Edge has a metal back which allows you to charge the phone wirelessly (although I could not use this feature as the technology not yet available). But this feature will be beneficial for those who find plugging in to charge a tiring job.

The phone has a very nice feel and touch overall although the projecting camera lens is quite noticeable which some people may consider a drawback.

S6 Edge’s fingerprint sensor has been improved tremendously and Samsung has (thank goodness) got rid of the fingerprint swipe feature. Now you just require to rest your finger on the Home Button and it will scan automatically (just like the iPhone).

To my disappointment, it has shed the water proof feature as is also the case with the S6 which was an attraction in the Galaxy S5 and S5 Mini.

As well as now, the S6 Edge does not have expandable memory which means you are stuck with the in-built memory capacity you purchase the device with – similar to what all iPhones offer.

You cannot insert a memory card to increase the memory space. But it does come with bigger storage options starting at 32GB and then moving to 64GB and 128GB.

Of course the distinctive feature of S6 Edge is the sloping edges to the screen which allows you to enjoy extra functionality.

Below are some features of the S6 Edge reviewed.
