Four athletes have been offered two-year sports academic scholarships in the United States.

Following Athletics Fiji applications for the Oceania Foundation US Scholarships last year; Aaron Powell, Inia Tamainai, Sisilia Seavula and Younis Bese will attend the Southwestern Community College in Iowa.

The Oceania Foundation scholarship programme enables talented young athletes to develop their sporting careers and at the same time gain tertiary education to prepare them for life after sport.

This comes on the back of previous recipients of US scholarships such as National athletics rep Eugene Vollmer and Milika Tuivanuavou. The four athletes will leave for the US in time for the semester which starts in August.

Meanwhile, Athletics Fiji has also submitted a list of athletes for the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.
