The Fiji Table Tennis pleads for financial assistance to allow their para-athletes to take part in the upcoming Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

Fiji Table Tennis Association president Anthony Ho said, they are looking for financial assistance to allow their players and para-athletes to attend upcoming competitions and also for the Fiji National Sports Commision to finalise a replacement national coach to work on the players.

The Fiji Para Table Tennis team to the 2015 International Table Tennis Federation( ITTF) Oceania Championships finished on a very high note with one gold, three  silver and one bronze medal

Sainimili Naivalu won gold in the Class 3-5 category. Mere Rodan won silver in the women’s wheelchair singles champion. Rodan again won silver in the singles in the Class 3-5

Francis Chung won bronze in the men’s doubles against Shaktick Devan Krishnan of New Zealand in the Class 3-5 category while John Tauni won silver in standing teams division event against  James Swanbury of Australia in the Class 8 category.

In the Class 6-10 men’s singles people with standing disability, John Taunihad tow very close matches against Victor Kamizona of New Zealand and Connor Holdback of Australia losing to Kamizona 2-3 with the fifth and final set finishing at 10-12

The team is currently undergoing four days of training and pennant competitions before returning on April 18.
