More than 22,000 people have registered for free water allowance with the Water Authority of Fiji.

Out of this number 14,926 applications have been approved, with 7102 applications still in process.

The free water allowance was part of FijiFirst Government’s manifesto.

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) said they were pleased to execute Government’s initiative to provide free water allowances to all WAF customers. Customers who meet the criteria will be provided with free water allowances. The programme is ongoing and there is no deadline for it.

Users are urged to get free water usage allowance form, statutory declaration form, customer information form (CIF), valid photo ID, TIN Letter or FNPF/FIRCA joint card, latest pay lip for registration.

Water users earning less than $30,000 will be able to get 91,250 litres of water per year as allowance.

Water users can visit the WAF office to get their registrations completed.
