Teamwork is very important for the success of any organisation. But how do leaders mould them to achieve this success?

This is what the chief executive of Fiji Rugby Union, Radrodro Tabualevu, is going to be presenting on at the 2015 Fiji Institute of Accountants FIA Congress.

Mr Tabualevu will be speaking on the theme: ‘Moulding a Team for Success’ on the second day of the congress which begins tomorrow.

The congress, with Vodafone Fiji and Westpac as its major sponsors, is being held at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort on Yanuca Island.

Career and background

Mr Tabualevu was appointed as the chief executive of Fiji Rugby Union the past year in July.

He is experienced in not only the sporting world but has worked in a diverse range of industries.

These include industries such as agriculture, retail, motor vehicle and heavy machinery, shipping, finance, telecommunication and the building industry in Fiji and in the Pacific.

Post University, Mr Tabualevu started a 12-year career with Carpenters (Fiji) Limited as a Management Cadet.

This exposed him to various business sectors of the Carpenters Group including Morris Hedstrom.

He joined Telecom Fiji Limited in 2000 where he, among other things, initiated the planning, design and implementation processes of the iconic ‘Drua’ Phone Booths.

He left Telecom Fiji in 2003 to establish and lead TransTel Limited, (a subsidiary of Telecom Fiji) as its chief executive, until he resigned in 2013.

He then joined Pacific Emerging Technologies Limited, which serves nine Pacific islands from Fiji, as its executive director.

Amongst his achievements in TransTel was the pioneering design towards the development of the bus e-ticketing system.
