The Round Six of the RC Manubhai-sponsored Suva Rugby Union (SRU) Escott Shield competition as expected.

Top teams like Police Blues, Fresh’et Navy, Army Green and National Fire Authority (NFA) scoring wins at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Defending champions Police Blues thrashed USP Islanders 59-22, Army Green defeated DHL Raiwaqa White 22-7, Fresh’et Navy overpowered SSFL Stallions 46-17 and NFA defeated Red Rock 33-10 in the feature match.

SRU secretary Mitieli Waqa commended the performance of teams in the competition.

“The teams played and competed well.”

Waqa said the competition was getting competitive and exciting in the respective grades.

In the two challenges, Fresh’et Navy Blues beat Concrete Solution Qauia Gold 11-7 win.

In the Naboutini Koroturaga Grade challenge, Savura defeated Police White 30-24 to successfully defend the cup in its third defence.

“Savura is one of the consistent team in the Koroturaga Grade,” Waqa said.
