Coach Farina Pleased With Performance
Vodafone Fijian Under -20 coach Frank Farina is pleased with the team’s performance in the warm-up match in Australia, ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
The Fijian lost 0-3 to Mexico last Friday.
Farina used the match to gauge the teams’ weakness and strengths and was satisfied with the way the boys have played so far.
“I was happy with the performance especially playing an experienced side like Mexico,” Farina said.
“The team was in good shape and the goals against us were due to mistakes on our part but that is normal, players are bound to make mistakes.
“But they stayed composed and played the way I wanted them to play and I’m just generally happy with the way they played.”
Fiji will play their second warm-up match against Columbia at 5pm today.
“This will be a tough match but it will be a learning curve for the boys,” he said.
