Golfers collected $10, 000 during the Nepal Earthquake Charity event last Saturday.

Denarau Golf and Racquet Club manager David Roche said the two-person Ambrose event was a fun-filled event which attracted 96 golfers.

“It was a success and the weather was good for golf,” he said.

“The event was for local and overseas players to have a fun and raising funds for a very worthy cause.”

The event was the brainchild is Starwood Fiji director sales/marketing, Paul Yui.

Roche thanked their major sponsors Fiji Airways Sheraton, The Westin, Sheraton Tokoriki, Sofitel, and Radisson Blu resort, Cardos, Nadina, Big Bula Waterpark, South Sea Island Cruises, Denarau Water sports, ANZ, Mali Pest Control, Spa Denarau, Captain Cook Cruises, Punja & Sons, and Novotel Lami.

Team Mali (Sam Lee and Avinesh Datt) carded 13 under par 59 to win the event.

Second spot went to Team Natadola (Amitesh Chandra and Shivneel Sharma (59), while Team Coastal (Biren Kumar and Ram (Rambo) Khelawan (61) in third spot.

NTP’s hole 3 – Krishna Singh, 7 – Sam lee, 11 – Tui Kabu, 17 – Nilesh Chand. Longest drive (women) – Jennie Osborne, (men) Brent Roxburgh.
