Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment and Infrastructure Parveen Kumar said there was no illegal termination of Department of Public Works workers at Labasa.

While responding to the oral question raised by Opposition member, Mosese Bulitavu on what the Ministry intends to do regarding the ‘‘unlawful termination’’ of these workers, Minister Kumar said: “These workers were temporary workers and what ministry intends to do, is as and when there is a project these temporary workers can apply and be re-engaged in the work force.

“If these temporary workers have any grievances, they can bring it to me and I will look into it,” Mr Kumar said.
