The return of Eagle Boys Pizza Fiji into the market means more emphasis on consistency and a modern product approach to suit Fijian consumers.

Eagle Boys is one of Australia’s popular fast food chains specialising in pizza.

Fijian master franchise holder Phoenix Foods Ltd has invested just over $0.5 million to its flagship restaurant in the busy Damodar City Centre on Grantham Road.

Phoenix Foods is a family business owned by Pravin and Anil Patel, the founders and majority shareholders of NEWWORLD Ltd together with their nephew Tanuj Patel.

NEWWORLD general manager Operations Peter Royce said the company had reviewed the market by product range and done extensive segment testing.

“Wherever Eagle Boys go they try to adapt its product for the local market and bring in a new taste on a well-loved food environment,” Mr Royce said.

“What I mean by that is when you look at the standard pizzas you get in Fiji they’ve all got the really thick crust-base that everybody around the world used to have 20 years ago.

“This is a modern take. It’s a thinner, crispier crust. They’ve also introduced new menus specifically for this market when they did testing in Nadi and Suva.”

The restaurant at Damodar City offers a unique experience with seating for 30 guests, as well as the option of takeaway with alcohol also on its menu.

There are plans to open 10 stores within the next 10 years with the second one next year, Mr Royce added.

Additional features and new ocation will be determined on customer flow, NEWWORLD chief executive Anil Patel added.

Eagle Boys will eventually be located in all major towns throughout Fiji ensuring all Fijians are able to experience the taste and quality that’s become renowned with the Eagle Boys Pizza brand.

The opening yesterday was beginning to draw a crowd with Manisha Patel, Mr Patel’s wife, placing the first order to highlight the business official opening.

The general consensus of the pizzas was very positive.
