What happened: RC Manubhai Suva made commanding start in Round One of the Skipper Cup competition yesterday.

This was after the capital side demolished Tavua 54-13 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The capital city played good rugby throughout to score eight tries while Tavua managed to score two tries and a penalty.

Jiuta Quniqamo, Epeli Kunimudu and Waqabaca Kotobalavu touched down in the first-half for Suva’s 26-10 lead at half-time.

Suva played the match with same momentum in the second half and scored four answered tries to Kotobalavu, Joeli Lotawa and Quniqamo and a penalty try resulted in Suva’s gallant win.

Star turn:

Emosi Mulevoro was the star player for the side. The former national 7s player converted three crucial tries in the first-half to set the platform for Suva’s thumping win.

Big play:

Suva forwards should commended for their sterling performance which resulted in eight-try win.

“This is a good start for us and we will take each game at a time in the competition.
