France-based centre Adriu Delai is excited after being named in the Vodafone Flying Fijians extended squad for the Pacific Nations Cup and the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

“Since I have finished with the club training so I will need to recover for few days and be hundred percent physically fit before focusing on the PNC and World Cup,” he said

“I look forward to attending the trials and meeting up with the rest of the boys,” Delai said.

Meanwhile, Delai was disappointed he couldn’t represent his club, Stade Montois, in the Pro D2 final against Agen after suffering an arm injury during the semi-final against Albi.

“I had suffered a muscle strain on my shoulder, it was alright again and I was supposed to be in the line-up this week but I felt I couldn’t give my hundred percent and told the coaches I couldn’t play knowing how critical the final was,”

“I’m a little disappointed that I was unable to play but that’s okay,” Delai said.

He said he was happy about his performance this season especially after helping his club to second place on the 2014/2015 Rugby Pro D2 table behind Pau Rugby Club.

“In the next season my plan is to improve the standard we left off this season and other areas, stay injured-free, play 80 minutes every game and win the final,” Delai said.
