This was during the Fiji-China (Guangdong) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, said commercial MOUs will be conduits for the growth of bilateral trade and investment by Guangdong nationals in Fiji.

“The Government-to-Government MOUs will provide a general framework for dialogue and co-operation on health, tourism and other areas of mutual interest,” he highlighted.

“They will contribute to the improvement of social and economic relations and develop active technical cooperation between the countries in their respective areas.”

Mr Koya said Chinese investments in Fiji were predominant in wholesale & retail, service, agriculture & forestry and manufacturing.
