Germany Done, On To Honduras
The Vodafone Fijian Under-20 football side will look to improve from their first game when they play Honduras in their second game of the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup tomorrow.
Whilst losing out to Germany 8-1 in the opening match on Monday, head coach Frank Farina was pleased nonetheless with the boys’ performance, saying “We did not lose discipline and structure and that was important.”
He continued that they “knew it was always going to be difficult. There was a big improvement by my team in the second half.”
Farina added that the players “were not really nervous as they did not know what to expect, instead there was a lot of excitement.”
Meanwhile, Honduras defeated Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in their first match 5-1 yesterday. Fiji plays Honduras at 4pm tomorrow at the Christchurch Stadium in Christchurch.
The 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup kicked off on May 30 and will run until June 20, and is being hosted by New Zealand.
