The Nasekula Methodist Church circuit raised more than $16,000 in a two-day fundraising at Nabalesi compound in Nasekula Village which ended last Friday.

Church minister Reverend Jone Ledua said the main purpose of the two-day bazaar was to help cell groups raise funds for their annual levy.  The 12 cell groups had targeted to raise $750 each.

“The two-day bazaar is to help cell groups raise money for the yearly church levy,” Rev Ledua said.  He said most cell groups were finding it difficult to raise money so the two-day bazaar was organised for these cell groups.

“The cell groups sold food parcels, handicrafts as some members of their cell groups are not working.”

Rev Ledua said the bazaar also taught the congregation to help each other as this was the work of God.

Church administrator Ulaiyasi Racaku said the bazaar enabled the members of the congregation to come together for a good cause.

“Our target for the two day bazaar was $12,000 but we are happy that we managed to get more than $16,000,” he said.
