All Whites Will Miss U20 Reps
The Suva football side will miss the services of their national U20 players when they take on 4R Electric Ba this Sunday at the ANZ Stadium.
Head coach Gurjit Singh confirmed captain Jale Dreloa, Nickel Chand, Al-taaf Mansoor and Kolinio Sivoki were resting. Singh was confident that his other players would do the job.
“We’re definitely going to miss the services of the Under-20 players as they take their much deserved break. Their absence will leave a gap for us but we’ve got other players to fill those roles well,” Singh said.
Singh acknowledged the Men in Black would provide a naturally strong challenge for the capital side.
“Well this is gonna be another good game for us and as you know Ba is a strong team but we’ve got a good support system and we’re getting ourselves ready to face them. Overall we’re doing what we can to ensure another good game and hopefully a win this weekend,” he said.
Suva host Ba at 3pm on Sunday at the ANZ Stadium with the only other matches being Tailevu Naitasiri hosting Lautoka at 3pm also at Ratu Cakobau Park while Labasa hosts Rewa at Subrail Park at 1.30pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Fiji Football Association has yet to confirm the new dates for all matches postponed from last Sunday due to the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 final pool game against Uzbekistan in the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Ba was scheduled to play Nadroga at 7.30pm in Govind Park last Friday, Nadroga was meant to host Rewa at Lawaqa Park at 3pm and Suva was meant to host Nadi at the ANZ Stadium at 3pm, both on Sunday.
Jack’s Chicken Express Nadi currently leads the points table with 26 points, followed by Shop N Save Lautoka with 19 points, Labasa with 19 points, Rewa with 17 points, RC Manubhai Suva with 16 points, 4R Electric Ba with 15 points, Nadroga with 10 points and Tailevu Naitasiri sitting at the bottom with 1 point.
