Trade Policy Framework To Be Launched This Friday By PM

The Fijian National Trade Policy Framework will be launched this Friday by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

This has been confirmed by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya.

Mr Koya made these comments as he launched Investment Fiji’s 2015 Westpac Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards.

Mr Koya said the framework sets the long-term vision for Fiji’s priority sectors.

He said it also recognises the vital role that the private sector plays in driving growth and development mapping out a path for closer co-operation and collaboration with the Government.

Mr Koya said stressed the Government will continue to make exports a priority.

“The Fijian Government will continue to provide the environment and the incentives that our exporters need to grow,” he said.

The Framework agenda Focuses on:

– Expansion trade opportunities
– Promoting industrial growth
– Attracting domestic and foreign investment
– Increasing exports of goods and services
– Emphasising the importance of value addition
– Addressing supply-side constraints
